Blended learning means a combination of online and face-to-face learning. This can mean using the best of the best - the best use of online learning to enable face-to-face activities to be active and engaging learning experiences with the full implication of the learners.

The aim is to encourage learners to be active learners by using online technologies to enable or support learning activities that continue outside of the training room, and encourage learners to be well prepared for training sessions.

This in turn will enhance learners’ self-image as effective learners and decrease the need for reliance on the trainer. From such confidence the ability to be self-directed learners can develop.
